High-Deductible Health Plans

Are you someone who seldom gets sick? Looking for a plan with the lowest premiums? Only the Bronze coverage level offers high-deductible health plans (HDHPs). These plans have low monthly payments but high costs when you get care. You’ll cover the full cost of your care for most services, but your plan will pay for all expenses once you meet your deductible (by spending $6,900 in a year for an individual or $13,800 for a family).

Tip: Get more savings by combining an HDHP with a health savings account through your bank to pay for certain medical services tax-free

HDHPs’ integrated deductibles mean that your medical and pharmacy costs both count toward one deductible (the threshold to reach before your plan pays for everything). You only need to meet one before your prescriptions are fully covered.
