Immigration Status and Health Insurance

Most immigrants who are California residents qualify for health insurance, and everyone can apply for insurance, regardless of whether they are lawful residents. All information provided on the application is confidential. Get more detailed information about health insurance for immigrants in our Learning Center. 

Starting on Nov. 1, 2024, Covered California will accept applications for health insurance from recipients of DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals), and DACA recipients may be eligible for insurance through Medi-Cal. Contact your local county office for more information.
