Financial Help Changes
Due to a new law, most of our members received extra financial help to help pay for their health insurance, starting in May 2021. This additional financial help will continue in 2022 if you are eligible. The total amount of financial help you’ll get in 2022 may be the same amount you received in 2021. But since those savings are spread across 12 months in 2022 instead of eight months in 2021, your monthly financial help could be lower and your monthly premium higher.
Here’s an example: If you received $1,200 in financial help for eight months of 2021, that comes out to $150 a month off your bill. In 2022, that same amount would be spread over 12 months, resulting in $100 in monthly savings.
This adjustment will happen automatically, so you don’t need to take any action. The additional help is scheduled to end at the end of 2022.
